Roshan Energy is a nonprofit electric cooperative dedicated to serving the Ismaili community in Texas with affordable, reliable, and sustainable electricity. Established under Texas Utilities Code Chapter 161, we operate exclusively for the benefit of our members — delivering prepaid and standard retail electric service in the Dallas and Houston areas through the existing transmission and distribution networks of Oncor, CenterPoint, AEP Texas North, AEP Texas Central, and Texas-New Mexico Power.

Our mission is simple yet powerful: 

Provide electricity at rates 10% below prevailing market prices while channeling 100% of net profits — after reasonable operating expenses — to the Aga Khan Foundation to support global humanitarian efforts.

By combining competitive wholesale energy procurement, efficient operations, and AI-assisted customer service, we aim to create meaningful savings for our members while generating local employment opportunities and fostering entrepreneurship within the community. We also actively support any community member who wishes to launch a similar energy venture in other regions of the United States.

As a member-owned cooperative, transparency and accountability are at our core. We conduct independent quarterly audits and share the results openly with all members. Every decision is guided by our commitment to community welfare, sustainability, and the values that unite us.
